Hello, my lovelies!!!!!!
It's been so long, I know. This was the longest beauty blog hiatus I've ever gone on since I started, but sometimes, life's just like that. In the course of six months, I got a new job, had to bury my Father and then, just recently, let go of that job again. But now I'm back, with a vengeance!
From here on out, I plan to make posts on Anna's Makeup Oasis shorter and sweeter, so that I can blog more than I used to. You'll still get loads of images, just the text will be more concise.
And with this announcement out of the way, let's resurrect this mothereffer with a bang!
I did this look just a week ago with my new Electric palette from Urban Decay. The colours remind me of the sweet pea flower, hence the name.
(Starting right now, I'll be adding my Twitter handle to my pics whenever possible, as a watermark but also to make it easier for you and others to follow me, here and there!)
I used Savage and Urban from Urban Decay's fabulous, truly electrifying new palette. They are a hot pink shade (Savage) and an electric dark purple (Urban), which reminds me a bit of Sugarpill's Poison Plum, but with a lot less fuchsia staining going on.
These shades are definitely true-to-pan and very intense. AKA: what I love most in the world. They're not super buttery but still very blendable and buildable, so it's all good.
For the lower lashline, I used a Sephora 24hrs Waterproof Pencil in purple, which I then set with Savage and Urban. Underneath it all is MAC's Fresco Rose Paint Pot, which I used to make sure the eyeshadows would really fulfil all their potential. Sadly, Fresco Rose has been discontinued a few years ago (what were they thinking?!), but a great dupe can be found in Maybelline's Color Tattoo cream shadows, in the colour Pink Gold.
The cheeks are a slightly metallic liquid peach blush by the old essence Metal Glam LE, topped with Dirty Plum blush by MAC. (As always, though, it looked amazing in real life but they don't photograph easily, sorry!)
And finally, a little secret: the pics you see were taken after a full 12-hour work day. No budging, no loss of intensity. The only clue is my Milani Fruit Punch lipstick, which has gone a little splotchy and even that held up like a champ, considering it's a lipstick!
I'm back and I hope you're on board!
Stay beautiful, inside and out,
Anna
