Ever since blog reader Katrin asked me to test and review the essence Gel Nails at Home set, I've found myself reaching for nail polish more and more often. I still wouldn't say I do it regularly, but I do get the urge to paint my nails every few weeks, something that hasn't happened in years! Weird. But good.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to a porcelain store with my Mum to replace a broken teapot lid. I saw some beautiful pieces of china that were stark white and painted with some gold designs and just felt really inspired by them, so I decided to try and re-create something similar on my nails. Which was fun too, since I've had a white polish lying around that I'd never used before because white polish by itself just looks like whiteout.
Anyway, here's the design I came up with!
I got very mixed reactions to this. Some people loved it, some people hated it. Personally, I really loved it, although truth be told, the accent nails with the addition of the turquoise didn't turn out quite like I'd envisioned them. More glamouflage and less Fabergé egg. I really dig the rest though, the gold kinda looks like golden corals. Wasn't there a line of Versace china back in the nineties which looked a little like that? Hmmm...
What do you think?
Stay beautiful, inside and out,
Anna
